Fannie Lou Hamer Birthday Party!!! Durham, NC

Let’s get ready for Fannie Lou Hamer’s 96th birthday with a community celebration. Eternal Summer of the Black Feminist Mind invites you to eat cake, dance to a special freedom playlist, informally learn about insights Sista Docta Alexis Pauline Gumbs learned in Fannie Lou Hamer’s archival papers, and play a new interactive black feminist game called “Legacy” that is better than charades and taboo combined. (There will also be prints of the “Act Like You Know” collage featuring Fannie Lou Hamer and Ella Baker available.)
